Renae & Daddy's Birthday Preps.

My daddy and Renae shares the same birthday : 18th Aug.

This year as Renae turns one, i decided to help my dad celebrate his birthday too.
why not? It would be so fun & meaningful.

About 2months before, i started searching for bakers to bake their birthday cakes.
It took me quite awhile to find a baker who could take up the challenge to bake my dad's cake.

My dad's cake was complicated because i wanted to a 3D design of his new Sypder RT bike. And because it was meant to be a surprise i had to secretly take pictures of his bike and accessories.
Haha, sneaky me!

Ok this is my daddy's bike.

Hubs fooling around while i took pics.

Accessories.

It took us awhile before it all came together.
So i really thank you Rachel for your time and patience.

We had a few drafts of what i wanted before we finalized the design.

(This is one of the drafts)

For Renae's cake i decided to go with Hello Kitty.
Why?

Well we didn't really know what Renae likes as she is too young to have any preference. So we thought, since most of her stuff are hello kitty - from her blankie, to her cup and pacifiers.. We shall go with the Hello Kitty theme. Plus her birthday outfit is Kitty too :)

Ok so both cakes are settled!

Now onto the photo frame that we bought.
We thought it would be quite meaningful to cut out pics from when Renae was a newborn till 12mths old. Hubby was busy at work so the other man in my life gladly helped me out.
I went over to my daddy's office to print out the pics.

Dad and me took ages to choose pics because Renae has thousands of pictures taken by my daddy. We couldn't decide which ones to use and we needed to find pictures that were of right sizes too. Looks simple but its so tedious and a lot of trial and error.

My daddy is a perfectionist and insist that all cutting to be done by him! LOL.

Look how serious is he.
I would show this to Renae when she grows up.
The very reason why i decided to blog,
so that Renae knows how much we all love her and the effort we put in for her 1st birthday :)

Finally done! We took a total of 7hours to complete this. Honest!
(Plus an hour lunch break in between.)

On the actual day Preps.
There were sooo many many things to be done and lots of co-ordinating.

HOURS before…

We started with ballons decor.
I engaged a gf of mine who does balloon decor for parties and my hubby helped her out because we were afraid that the decor could not complete in time.

Well done Hubby! Looking sooo serious!

Haha. A pro at blowing up balloons.

Restaurant stuff also busy preparing for the buffet and making sure the place looks gorgeous!

The head chef - Har Mo, hand crafted a watermelon into this beautiful masterpiece!
*Speechless*

Balloons coming together!

Ready?

For the final product?

Ta-dah!!!

It was a mad rush for me coz i had to go home get changed, prepare my little birthday girl and rush back to the restaurant.

At about 6pm, the cakes arrive!!

I was so satisfied with how it looks, i'm definitely a happy customer!
Thanks again Rachel.
Very very well done!
